U.S. Chess Mates - 2011 Chess Team
2011 was the first year we held chess team sponsored by Learning Bee Learning
Center. Since it was our first year playing in rated tournaments with our new team we
could only qualify for 1 section at the state championships. We took 7 students last
year (2011) to the state championships and we had 2 children win 5 out of 5 games,
another with 4 out of 5 and the rest won 2 out of 5. That is a huge accomplishment
especially since these students were new to the rated section. They played in the
largest section of the tournament and along with there individual accomplishments the
students won 1st place as a team in the 1-3 grade section 1.
This year (2012) our chess team has a full 24 members and we will be competing in
over 7 sections with an average team rating of around 1200. Our team consists of pre
kinders all the way to 6th graders.

U.S. Chess Mates - 2013 Chess Team
Chess team is a program designed by U.S. Chess Mates to deliver advanced chess education and instruction. There are no
qualifications for chess team - unlike other local chess teams we will accept any child and it will be our job to make them
an advanced player, however we do limit the size of our class to 24 students. Chess team is a special class in addition to

year. In addition to the team we have added two new coaches. Coach Justin and
Coach Bolong. This year we will be competing in 7 sections at the state
championships and expect a decent out come. Coach Bolong is a China National
Life Master and has a current rating of 2370. Coach Justin is a local favorite beating
chess players as high as 2000. His specialty is opening and traps.

ended up winning many trophies and placing 1st, 2nd and third in many sections.

state champion. David as a kinder and bharat as a 6th grader. Congrats to the
students, parents and our team. We had fun and look forward to next years
